The term scientist covers a huge range of careers, so the first thing is to identify what area of science you are interested in. The majority of jobs in science require you to have at least a degree in the subject, so it would be wise to take the science subjects you’re interested in, along with maths, at school. Find out what the entry requirements are for the course you would need to take at university and work towards that. Having a degree in a science subject will give you good options for a career in science, either in research or in industry. I hope that helps!

What Kerry said! Pick what area of science you are most interested in and then make sure you can fulfil the entry requirements at university to do this subject! And a qualification in maths is definitely something you should get, since a lot of science relies on calculations.

Be prepared to study hard, study hard and study hard.
You need a good grounding in basic maths for almost anything, at least at the beginning. Then try looking at everything from biology to cosmology and see what interests you. It’ll be really hard to study anything seriously if you don’t really really like it.
Remember too that there are lots of science fairs around and good science museums as well – these are always fun anyway and maybe you’ll see something that catches your imagination.
You’ll probably chaneg your mind a few times before landing on your final choice; that’s normal as there are many things you don’t even know exist yet.
However, don’t ever think there’s an easy route – even geniuses studied hard first.
