• Question: How do you grow a cell?

      So all the cells I grow grow in what we call flasks. It’s like a Petri dish but square and has an orange hole with a cap. There are some photos on my profile.

      The cells stick to the plastic on the bottom and grow on that. We cover them in a red liquid called medium which contains all the nutrients they need to grow. They then are kept in an incubator (so a warm cupboard) at 37C and 5% carbon dioxide, so the same conditions as in your body.
