Glass is made by melting together several different minerals at very high temperatures – about 1700°C. Sand is the main ingredient which contains silica. and this is combined with soda ash and limestone and melted in a furnace. Other materials can be added to produce different colours of glass.

Glass is made from a variety of minerals that are all melted together. These minerals are silica (like sand), soda ash, and limestone. They’re all melted together at about 1700˚C

      Good question!
