• Question: what's your favorite element on the periodic table?

      Carbon! Because when you apply loads of pressure to it, it turns in to diamonds!

      I like gallium because it has a low melting point, so it will melt if you hold it in your hand! It’s also used to make blue and purple LEDs, so it’s my favourite.

      Hydrogen … it’s number one!
      Also as a physicist it is the simplest atom and therefore the one we can “solve” exactly. Even helium is already a bit too complicated to be solved perfectly.
