Single malt whisky with a drop of water. I prefer the more peaty ones.
Then again I do rather like a pint or two of Guinness – I have drunk it in Dublin and there it’s just divine.
But … on a hot summer’s day a glass of iced green tea is just fine.
First thing in the morning I wouldn’t touch anything except a cup of Twinings breakfast tea and following lunch an espresso as strong as you can make it is a wonderful way to get back on the tracks for an afternoon’s work.
With a thick Florentine steak a glass of two of Brunello di Montalcino (an excellent Italian red wine) adds the touch of perfection.
Now I’ll get told off for mention alcohol too much.
