• Question: Why do all cats try to teach their owner to hunt by bringing in dead animals?

      Cats are natural hunters, as an animal in the wild they would catch birds and mice as they eat meat and are predators. Whilst we’ve domesticated them as pets, they still have that natural instinct to catch things.

      I never thought they were trying to teach us anything (I grew up with two cats); it seemed more like they were trying to show us how clever they were – they were more like trophies.

      They notice that you don’t hunt, and they don’t want you to starve! That’s why they’re always bringing you dead mice – they’e for you to eat!!
