Why do some people have brown hair? Why do some people have long legs? Why do some people have hairy arms? …
We’re all slightly different, we are not made in a factory by machines that always produce identical objects and so there are always little differences.

It’s all about your sensitivity to the UV rays from the sun, and the amount of melanin pigment in your skin.

So when you go out in the sun, the cells in your skin that overproduce melanin are the areas that form freckles. Some people get more freckles than others because of genetics – if your parents are super freckly, you will also probably be pretty freckly.

      Hope that helps!
